Talk about a dark, twisted story, THE LAST MRS. PARRISH is not the type of book I usually read but my librarian practically shoved the book in my hand and told I had to read it. Knowing she would question me about it when I saw her next, I sat down and to my surprise finished the book in one evening.
This book has a cast of characters you can’t help but find out more about. Amber, talk about a character you can’t help but hate when you first meet her, but in a twisted way you’re drawn into her world and “mission”. Daphne Parrish, the perfect wife and mother you like but want to scream at her to open her eyes and see what’s going on around her. Then there’s Jackson Parrish, the handsome, wealthy, and devoted husband who bedazzles you, but something is off and you can’t place your finger on what it is. When Amber slithers into the Parrish’s life and begins to execute her plans to take Daphne’s place as Jackson’s wife, it’s like passing by a car accident and you can’t help but look. My favorite part of of the book was the second half when we get into Daphne’s viewpoint. Her story sucks you in, enrages you, and I couldn’t stop reading, even though my eyes were burning from lack of sleep.
The Constantine sisters had me glued to the pages to find what would happen in THE LAST PARRISH. I enjoyed it and loved the “be careful what you wish for because you might get it”.
