It’s almost impossible to review BEHIND CLOSED DOORS without giving way all the juicy and shocking details that made me not want to put it down.
I was hooked from chapter one and the way B.A. Paris introduced us to Jack and Grace Angel, the happy and perfect married couple throwing a dinner party for friends. Paris does a wonderful job of sprinkling in that first chapter doubts on what we are really seeing, from Grace’s inner monologues to the subtle actions she and her husband do that don’t quite mesh with the image of being the perfect couple.
As more things about Grace and her marriage to Jack are slowly revealed, I kept asking myself:
“Why doesn’t she say this?”
“Why doesn’t she do that?”
“Seriously how can a woman allowed herself to be…?”
But in brilliant way, Paris shows the reader how one choice made out of love can have someone travel down a hellish path that Grace has been forced to take.
If you love psychological thrillers where you are constantly wondering “How the hell can she get out of this and save herself?” then you definitely need to read BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.
